NewsShipitAPO Updates Terms of Use/User Agreement (8/6/2008)ShipitAPO has moved its headquarters from Virginia to Massachusetts, which warranted an update to our Terms of Service (User Agreement). Accordingly, we have posted this update on our website, effective August 1, 2008. We encourage you to review it and should you have any questions, to contact us via email. For well over 97% of our Members, our updated Terms of Use reflect no change to their experience using ShipitAPO. But for the others, the two areas that represent major change are the way we will now handle Undeliverable parcels and how we now treat non-Parcel items, items which include letter mail, credit card statements, magazines, etc. As outlined in our Terms of Service, your ShipitAPO address is to be only used for the forwarding of Parcels to your designated Parcel Destination Address (PDA). Such examples of this is when you order a laptop from Hewlett Packard, have it sent to your ShipitAPO address and we forward it to your PDA or when fulfilling government contract or procurement obligations. Your ShipitAPO address is not to be used for any other purpose, such as a private mail box. Accordingly, any delivery of non-Parcel items to your ShipitAPO address is considered incidental to our normal business operations. To accommodate these incidental non-Parcel items, we will hold such items (e.g. properly addressed letter mail), placing as many items that will fit into a U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail Flat Rate envelope and then forward such envelopes on a quarterly basis unless you complete a Declination of Forwarding of Non-Parcel Items Form or ask for forwarding of such items sooner via our Envelope on Demand service. A copy of our Declination form can be found here. With this update to our Terms of Service, we have also formalized our policy on how we deal with Undeliverable items. Each Member is encouraged to review their Parcel History to see if there are any parcels needing your attention and if so, to act accordingly. Any Undeliverable item held in our possession past the grace period as defined in our List of Fees will be disposed of accordingly. We will post future Announcements regarding Undeliverable items soonest. As always, we thank you for your patronage, feedback and support. Do not hesitate to contact us as needed.
ShipitAPO adds Express Mail service for APO/FPO addresses (5/26/2008)Happy Memorial Day! ShipitAPO has just added US Postal Service Express Mail service as an option for APO/FPO addresses. The new setting can be applied globally to all packages or by explicity selecting Express Mail for specific inbound UPS and FedEx packages heading to your ShipitAPO address. Unfortunately, while this new Express Mail option exists the US Postal Service does not guarantee the service for APO/FPO addresses. Give it a try and let us know the results!
